Day 2 - Bohol

Tuesday, December 20, 2017

Delayed flight aftermath? We went to Cebu without pre-booking any tours/tickets; our plan was to buy it from the hotel since in most cases, tickets are cheaper/discounted from hotels. Unfortunately, we arrived at the hotel at around 10:30 PM and so office hours of the affiliated tour office was closed and the only option is to wait for it to open at 8am in the morning. We woke up around 6AM and my dad was already contacting the travel agency he already inquired on before. I tried contacting travel agencies online but upon calling them via phone, they either shut me down or the contact doesn't exist. We ended up going for the travel agency my dad knew, rushed ourselves in the shower, grabbed a taxi and off we go!

Arrived at the waiting area for the Supercat ferry at 7:45AM (dearture at 8:15AM). Great job fam! ๐Ÿ‘Š

Bohol was two hours away from Cebu by ferry. Upon arriving at the Tagbilaran Wharf, we were greeted by Ate Dolly - our tour guide (which I don't have a picture btw), giving us a tourist-hawaiian-vibe necklace - tarsier being the pendant.

As we went around Tagbiliaran city - Bohol's capital & only city, thru a van, Ate Dolly briefed us on all the tourist attractions we'll be visiting. She also gave alot of input about Bohol! One of which is their tricycle - their main mode of transportation. They also had habal habal - which I wasn't able to see in person but based from google is just like a motorcycle with open seats on the side haha it was good for 4-6 persons. Their highways were narrow and had no stop lights & speed limit. They didn't have SM nor Robinsons since their province didn't allow big companies to enter to give way for the smaller ones.. And Panglao island was there only mountain island.

Blood Compact Monument

Tagbilaran city is known as the city of friendship for this is where the first blood compact (between the Spanish explorer Miguel Lรณpez de Legazpi and Datu Sikatuna the chieftain of Bohol on March 16, 1565) in the Philippines was done.

Baclayon Church & Museum

The first settlement of spaniards. Thus, the oldest church in the Philippines. It was made from limestone & coral stones.  There we went inside the museum and sadly, pictures & videos weren't allowed inside.
