Nueva Ecija Fiesta 2013

Monday, May 20, 2013

As a sort of a tradition, our family annually visits Nueva Ecija to celebrate with our relatives their much awaited Fiesta. This is the time of the year when everyone prepares special foods for their guests; and districts would compete with one another through their creativity in creating their banderitas and floats.

This is a very special occasion for our family, because this is one of the rarest times that we get to see our cousins and spend time with our relatives. We used to reside in our Lola's house back then, but my dad decided that it would be better if we had our own resting house there, and ask our relatives to manage it for us while we're gone.

Notice that the floats had their own meanings; take for example the crocodile represents corruption.

Of course, we did not want to miss seeing the artistic skills used in creating these banderitas. Me and my cousins picked our own Purok winner. They are yours to judge too!
